Bio: Jim Martens is a retired educator (teacher, principal, and assistant superintendent). He currently can be found writing, acting, or playing with his grandkids. Jim owns his own publishing company (Red Maple Press) and conducts youth drama camps (Bard in the Yard) during the summer. Jim is also the lead Santa at Grouse Mountain and has appeared as the jolly old man in the DYT production of “Elf” and as Maurice in DYT’s “Beauty and the Beast.” Recently he has been auditioning for commercials and doing background work on TV shows filmed in the Greater Vancouver area. Favourite shows are “Big Sky” (performing as the kissing couple with his wife and high school sweetheart, Nena), “Resident Alien”, and “Superman and Lois.”
